I really loved the last 3:10 to Yuma poster. This one not so much. It’s a lot less rich and much closer to a typical looking image. It also gives a lot of space to the title, which really isn’t that interesting. And the guy at the center of the poster does tell us this is a western, but it’s such a generic image, not really specific at all to this western movie.
Hopefully the next posters for this movie will be closer to the first poster.
It looks like a bad video game poster. Ugh.
Gotta disagree. I think it’s a fantastic poster. I love the way the font of the title is sort of jagged, but also looks like there are splotches of blood. It also seems to be melting in to the page somehow.
As for the cowboy, it’s very reminiscent of Eastwood Spaghetti westerns (it even looks like Eastwood a bit). Maybe it’s just me, but I love the pose the cowboy is in; like he has enemies on both sides and he is fighting them back. It just looks damn cool.
I agree with Andrew James’ post; this poster is just plain awesome. It’s strewn all across New York City right now and I just love looking at it. I think the cowboy image is extremely movie and character-specific, especially if you’ve seen the movie. What I really want to find is the landscape-format version of this poster which looks even better!
