I think the best thing about this poster is Frances McDormand expression. She truly looks mortified by what is going on, but there is still a little twinkle of fascination in her eyes. Amy Adams, on the other hand, looks a lot more fascinated than mortified, and although her expression isn’t quite as funny it’s still amusing.
Outside of that the poster is just agreeable. I think we get a decent sense of what the film is about and that it is a period flick, the legs do manage to draw your attention to the image and the color scheme in not very exciting, but it’s not ugly either. Not bad, not great.
But McDormand’s face? Priceless.
