Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

I wouldn’t mind the “quirky Jim” angle because he proved in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind that he could do it. (Other than that, “goofy Jim” puts me off.) I’ve seen some pictures of Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor in character for the movie and they both look quite different and interesting, so maybe they could have tried to sell the pairing instead of Jim Carrrey alone.

I’m pretty sure this poster is a fake. For one thing this film did not win the Camera d’Or in Cannes. For another, the photoshopping is terrible. Finally if you read the fine print, there are some strange things on there that don’t really look like credits.

i don’t know. it looks like jim carrey smiling. i don’t think he’s making a face… i think that is his face. look at the ACE VENTURA poster for him making a funny face.

the poster looks arty (and reminds me of the matt damon image on THE INFORMANT with the weird face and words over the actor). that coupled with the cannes logo should scare away the 1997 jim carrey fans. more importantly, i think people know there are two jim carreys. nobody lined up for NUMBER 23 and complained it wasn’t funny enough. people know.
